Exploring Central Mass.

Last weekend I drove to Spencer, MA to visit my bitchin' friend, Casey Suter. We had lunch in North Hampton and walked around for a while. Waited in a huge line for Herrell's famous hand-made ice cream. Then we got our palms read. HA! After that we drove back and Casey's lovely parent's, Garry and Donna, made a delicious meal of steak of the grill and all the fixin's. Then their friends, Pat and Laurie came over and we all drank 2007 Cote de Rhone well into the night and sang Frankie Valli. On Sunday, Casey and I ate breakfast at Charlie's diner (featured on Diners, Drive-ins & Dives) Awesome! Then we drove up to this monastery and laid in the sun under a willow tree for awhile and had a cartwheel-off. I won. On the way back we stopped at this huge reservoir where there is apparently a whole town at the bottom. When we got back we went to the fire station for lunch and greeted a huge bike ride on their way to D.C. Great weekend. Great friend.

Reading and fighting

We have now read through all three plays as a group sans Will and Brian. Will is arriving tonight and will join us for dinner. Brian is on schedule to come tomorrow. Also today we went to the Plimoth to do some planning for the performance space and Jake and I led another stage combat demonstration which was filmed for a tv spot.

It's been a long days rehearsal.

Today we all went to the beach at the tip of the cape and did some yoga. We then proceeded with some Chekhov exploration work.

Plimoth Players Begins Rehearsal

Michael Kaup arrived yesterday and today Sam, Jake, Mike, and I read through Twelfth Night with Nate covering the extra parts. It's gonna be great!

New York, New York

So after the Shakespeare camp Jake and I drove the five hours to NYC. I parked my car outside of my cousin Kyle's apartment in Brooklyn for the week. Then Jake and I went to Sam and Nate's place in Spanish Harlem to start shooting the TV show Sam wrote called "Far Fetched". We filmed all of Jake's scenes over the weekend because he needed to leave on Tuesday to get back to Plimoth Plantation. On Monday I started sleeping at Kyle and Daniel's place and commuted into the city everyday. I filmed all my bits later in the week so I had some extra time to see a few shows. I saw In The Heights on Monday, Nate and I went to The 39 Steps (hilarious) on Wednesday, and saw Next Fall with Amy "mama torch" Lud the day the car bomb was found a block away in Times Square. So all-in-all it was an eventful week.

Camp Follow Up

Well, the rest of the kids theater camp was very successful. The kids learned a lot and did an excellent job performing " The Little Tempest". Then Jake assisted me in teaching a stage combat workshop. I choreographed a three phrase sword fight which we went through step by step to show how a fight breaks down and is created. It went extremely well (and safe :)) and everybody was impressed with our work for the week.

Kids Camp Day 2

The Little Tempest is shaping up nicely. The kids are getting a slightly better handle on their characters, but it is only the second day. They really enjoyed the stretching routine I took them through. We also went down to the 1627 village and talked to "Stephen Hopkins" who is rumored to be an inspiration for Stephano in The Tempest. After the kids left for the day Jake and I checked out the Hornblower mansion where we will be living for the summer. We also discovers an abandoned overgrown stone gazebo in the middle of the plantation. We dubbed it the Lost Pavilion and will be frequenting it a lot this summer.
